Ok, so pictures of the band and the show are coming...

And how much money was raised?

Well, my friend, Brian Kelly, personally raised $3,268.
His team, "Starfish", raised $19,303

This money will go directly to these 5 causes:

Sleeping With The Fishes
(The Reading)

So, the reading we did for Nicole Fisher's screenplay, "Sleeping with the Fishes", was a hit. We recieved great feedback from two producers, two potential backers and casting agents interested in us actors.

I was told a few times that I should have my own TV sitcom... Hmmm... You never know...You never know... LOL

Also, Nicole just told me a few days ago that this script made it into the first cut for a very reputable script contest!

I will keep ya posted!
Cool

Gig at "The Shrine Bar" with "Mr. Hunter"

So, on July 1st, I got on stage at this great little space up in Harlem, the same space I will be playing in two weeks, and something was very different!

For the first time in years, actually since I was 20, I got on stage without holding a guitar in my hands. Yes, this new project I worked on gave me the opportunity to be a front man and I totally took advantage of it! I sang up a storm and danced 'till I couldn't dance no more...

Here are a few videos below from that project. Hope ya enjoy it!

**************************************************************

And so...
With nothing more to share...
Right now...Laughing
I leave you with this thought...

Nothing can stop you once you have found the hidden treasure locked inside of you and accept it as your true essence. It's that treasure that makes you
shine, sparkle and glow!

MR. HUNTER - New Band Project I'm Singing For!

Next Show: July 29th @ Central Park Bandshell
**************************************************************** *********
So, I just joined on board this new band, "Mr. Hunter", and we just had our very first show this past Thursday,
July 1st at, "The Shrine Bar", which is a hidden treasure I am glad I was exposed to. It was a great first gig
and a hell of a lot of fun. Yes, I love playing my guitar and singing my songs, but it's nice to let go of the
guitar and be able to sing and dance... and that is exactly what I did!

I will get footage and music clips soon from that gig and I look forward to sharing that with you next month.

And if you can't wait 'till then, we will be playing our next show on July 29th in Central Park, so come join us:

Thursday, July 29th

Sleeping With The Fishes - New Movie Project By: Nicole Gomez Fisher
**************************************************************************
So, this must be the month for jumping all over the creative playing field. When it rains, it pours...
but this is a great storm! A month ago, I get a text from a good friend of mine from LA who told me
how her friend texted her after watching my you tube videos asking, "Is that your friend? Her voice is amazing!"

The next thing you know, she is asking her if I act and would I be interested in doing a staged reading for a
script she's in the process of getting attention for called, "Sleeping With The Fishes". It's a light comedy
about two sisters and their family and the coming to terms with the younger sister's past lie about her dead
husband and being able to move forward in her life by getting out of her own way! The irony behind all of it;
I have a new song called, "Getting Out Of My Own Way".

So... next week I will be playing the older sister, Kayla, at a staged reading, which will be performed for industry. I am excited to be a part of this project. The writing is wonderful and Nicole truly allows each character to take shape throughout the script and each of them are able to grow in their own way by the end!

"BEND" - Album Download Discounted Price Has Now Ended.
*******************************************************************************************

So, anyone interested in downloading the full album, "bend",
it will now be $8.99 for 13 songs or 99 cents per song.

You can go to:
Remember, the Single "Lone Pine" is also available on page 2 of the widget page.

Have a Great July!

Talk to ya soon,

What's Inside?
Music Under New York Audition

I auditioned on May 11th for MUNY (Music Under NY) in Grand Central Station for a chance to play legally in the NY subways.  If chosen, a banner would be given to me with my name on it allowing me to play in certain locations in the subways without being stopped.  There were about 20 judges that sat before me as I sang "Bend" to them all for my chance to be a part of the program.

Here's the footage from that audition:

A friend of mine, who recorded the above audition for me, shared with me after the audition that he didn't think I would make the cut only because they were looking for more spectacle than talent. He was right, I did not make the cut, so I guess I will just continue to play in the subways without the banner and stay on my toes when the cops tell me, "You can't play here!"  Ah, the life of a busking musician.

Maybe I should have dressed up like the Pink Cowgirl that was there or brought a few puppets along with me to sing some Christmas Carols....... I guess it wasn't enough to sing from your heart and share your stories with others....

Well, all I can say is "I am a storyteller, plain and simple...you can take it or leave it, but I ain't changing who I am for anybody baby!"

Kayak For A Cause: Making A Difference on July 24th in Norwalk, CT
On Saturday July 24th 2010 a wonderful event called, "Kayak For A Cause",will be occuring.   Kayak For A Cause is a first-class charity event where hundreds of Kayakers cross Long Island Sound and thousands of spectators cheer them on to reach their fundraising goals.

This year's event is geared towards making a difference for for five worthy charities in the CT community: Save the Sound, Maritime Aquarium, Outward Bound, Builders Beyond Borders, and Canine Companions.

Well, the event is followed by a legendary KFAC Beach Party at Calf Pasture Beach (Norwalk, CT) complete with Lobsterbake & Music from...

You guessed it, I have been invited, along with four other bands, to perform for the Beach Party.  Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Guitar Legend, DICKIE BETTS and The Great Southern will be the Headliner. (The most famous non-Allman in the Allman Brothers Band)

More information will follow on the exact time I will be on, but until then, I wanted to share the news with you and give you the site to go to if anyone would like to come to this event as well as donate to any of the causes involved.

The main site is:

Check it out and I will let you know more info as I do!

Have a great day and talk soon!

A Night of Originals  & Covers!

So being back here in NY is giving me the opportunity to explore my actual home town, The Bronx. It's funny how the place I was running from most of my life is the place I have ended up in presently.  Since I am tired of running, I'm giving into my Bronx Roots and starting to enjoy the person I was and who I truly am!

With that said, I am very happy to announce my very first gig in The Bronx right around my old stomping grounds way back when!

For those of you who live in the area and don't like going into the city, here's your chance to come to a show.

The night will be filled with as many originals as I can fit in, as well as a bunch of covers.  It should be a great time, so come join me!

And... if ya can't come, spread to word!

The Final Video from "The Bitter End" is Up!

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Happy Tuesday!  It's raining cats and dogs right now as I sit on my cozy bed and write up this week's update for you!

So, the final video from "The Bitter End" show is now up on You Tube!  It's one of my favorite songs and hope it's one of yours too.  It's called "I'm No Saint" and it was inspired from my Catholic upbringing growing up in The Bronx.

Have a wonderful day wherever you may be and just click below to watch, "I'm No Saint".

And remember if you would like to stay updated with future video clips, after you watch "I'm No Saint", you can subscribe to MY YOU TUBE CHANNEL by clicking "SUBSCRIBE" at the upper left side of the page! This way, when a new video goes up, you will be the first to know.

Jennifer Vazquez's March Update

Oh Boy....This Week Is Gonna Be Fantastic!

Ahhhhh.... the weather is gonna be wonderful on The East Coast this whole week!

Today, I took advantage of it and went into the city.  I ended up walking around Union Square while drinking some Starbucks Iced Coffee with Hazelnut Syrup. Yummy!

It makes such a difference when the sun is shining and people are around filling New York with great energy!

A New Clip From "The Bitter End" Is Now Up!

Yes Folks!

The second video from "The Bitter End" Show is now up on You Tube!  It's a cover song called "The Climb", written by Jesse Alexander and her partner John Mabe.  You may be familiar with it as Mily Cyrus sings it.

My two beautiful little nieces made me aware of it when they sat me down to watch her movie a while back.  When that song came on, I was in tears by the end of it and knew I had to cover it. It hit me very hard!  Hope you like it!

And again, after you watch this clip, you can subscribe to MY YOU TUBE CHANNEL by clicking "SUBSCRIBE" at the upper left side of the page!  Then, every week you'll get the next clip I put up right away!

That's All Folks!

Until next week... enjoy each moment and every breathe you are blessed with!

Peace & Love!
Jennifer Vazquez
